Mark Bachmeier, Ryan Genengels, & Chad Hagedorn met at Central Wahington University and formed a band called The Dawn. They released a demo titled Hello Sun in 1995. After graduating, they went on a hiatus and later reformed under the name Terra Firma with Anthony Davidson as their new drummer. They released a demo in 1997 and an album under Def Ear Records in 1999. Jon Remien from The Regulators joined Terra Firma after their album release, and they released a single through Summit Sound in 2000.
